About the Falken Wildpeak A/T3W

The Falken Wildpeak A/T3W is an all-terrain, all-weather tire, designed for drivers of SUVs, light trucks and crossovers.

It’s engineered to be more rugged than the Falken Wildpeak AT, without compromising on-road handling and ride quality.

And while it may be less aggressive than the Falken Wildpeal MT, it’s engineered to deliver a heartier performance than your standard all-terrain tire.

Simply put, the Falken Wildpeak A/T3W is designed for a driver who is looking for a tire that can handle a wide range of terrains and conditions, deliver a rugged off-road performance over the weekends and offer a comfortable ride during weekly commutes.

Design and Performance Features

As mentioned above, the Falken Wildpeak A/T3W is engineered to deliver dependable traction in dry, wet, snowy surfaces.

It should also provide a capable off-road performance, combined with a comfortable on-road driving experience.

And to hit all these buttons, Falken has equipped it with a wide range of innovative features and technologies. They include:

Rugged Upper Sidewall

Falken has provisioned this tire with an outer apex sidewall, designed to protect the tire’s internal casing.

And this results in enhanced durability, combined with better handling on challenging terrains.

It also comes with a rugged upper sidewall, which helps to protect the tire further while helping to shed rocks and other debris.

3D Canyon Sipe Technology

Falken has also employed its proprietary 3D Canyon Sipe technology when making this tire.

This technology works together with the tire’s rugged tread design, thus helping to enhance its grip and traction in snowy conditions.

Also, the 3D Canyon Sipe technology helps to boost the tire’s handling stability, especially when cruising on the highway at higher speeds.

Enhanced Silica Tread Compound

The Falken Wildpeak A/T3W is also equipped with an enhanced silica tread compound as well as deeper tread depth.

These two features work together to boost the tire’s performance in snowy conditions and wet surfaces.

They also help to enhance the tire’s durability, resulting in long-lasting performance and value for money.

Heat Diffuser Technology

Falken also utilized its renowned Heat Diffuser Technology when manufacturing this all-season, all-terrain tire.

And as its name suggests, this technology helps to dissipate heat, thus ensuring the rubber remains cool, especially when you are towing heavy loads.

Falken Wildpeak A/T3W Performance

As noted earlier, the Falken Wildpeak A/T3W is an all-season, all-terrain tire, designed to handle a wide range of conditions and surfaces such as dry roads, wet and slippery surfaces, snowy conditions as well as off-road terrains.

So, does this tire manage to tick all these boxes? Well, I mounted a set of these tires on a Honda Ridgeline.

And while I was impressed by the tire’s rugged aesthetics and aggressive looks, I had to confirm whether it performs as advertised. Here are the highlights of my tests:

Off-Road Performance

While the Falken Wildpeak A/T3W may not be a dedicated off-road tire, it didn’t disappoint even when I pushed my Honda Ridgeline to the limits.

It tackled steep obstacles and tree-covered trails comfortable. And when I encountered thick and deep mud, this tire didn’t fail me.

I was able to maneuver through deep muddy terrains with ease, thanks to its outstanding traction and rugged off-road features.

I also decided to give it a run on areas with loose sand. And the performance was outstanding.

They gripped the surface confidently, with minimal wheel slip. Whether you encounter rock boulders, loose sand, or deep mud, this tire will grip the surface confidently.

Performance in Snowy Conditions and Wet Surfaces

After assessing this tire’s performance in off-road conditions, I then proceeded to test its snow traction. And I wasn’t disappointed.

It handled mild to moderate snowy conditions with utmost confidence. And this can be attributed to its aggressive design, deep treads and rigid tread blocks.

Furthermore, the Falken Wildpeak A/T3W also comes with the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol, meaning it has been tested and approved for safe driving in snowy conditions.

However, I also observed that it struggled somehow in deep snow. But it doesn’t mean your vehicle will be stuck.

While you may be forced to drive at slower speeds, it will eventually pull your vehicle through.

I should also mention that this tire is not engineered for extreme snow performance. But on mild to moderate snowy conditions, the traction will be adequate, the braking is solid and the handling is decent.

As for wet traction, I have nothing to complain about this tire.

When the temperatures started rising and the snow turned to water pools and mushy mud, the Falken Wildpeak A/T3W gripped the surface confidently.

Also, I didn’t experience any trouble getting from one point to the other, even when driving through surfaces covered with water puddles.

Overall, the Falken Wildpeak A/T3W is a confident, capable and dependable performance in snowy conditions and wet surfaces.

So, if you live in an area that experiences long snowy winters, the Falken Wildpeak A/T3W is, without a doubt, one of the best all-terrain, all-season tires for such conditions.

Dry Performance

As someone who has been testing tires for quite some time, I’ve noticed that most of the all-terrain tires that excel in challenging conditions and terrains, deliver a labored performance when it comes to paved, dry roads.

So, is that the case with the Falken Wildpeak A/T3W? Fortunately, you will not experience such problems with this tire.

After completing the tire’s snow performance, it was time to hit the highway and head back home.

And this gave me the perfect opportunity to evaluate this tire’s dry traction and overall performance.

I observed that it cleans its tread quite fast, thus supplying the traction needed for highway acceleration.

Also, grip and traction were evident immediately after I hit the highway. Also, the steering felt accurate and precise.

Furthermore, I was able to navigate sharp corners without any challenges, even when I was driving at higher speeds.

Falken Wildpeak A/T3W Ride Quality

Perhaps what stood out most for me about this tire is its ride quality.

Considering that it comes with deeper treads and larger tread blocks, I was expecting it to produce high levels of road noise and endless vibrations.

But I was pleasantly surprised. And it shines particularly when you encounter rough and uneven roads.

With the Falken Wildpeak A/T3W, you can drive your truck or SUV at higher speeds the entire day, and you will not experience any comfort-related issues.

In terms of ride refinement and smoothness, it was impossible to find a fault with the Falken Wildpeak A/T3W.

It will deliver top notch performance in those rugged terrains and challenging conditions, without compromising ride quality and refinement.

Warranties and Guarantees

Like other Falken tires, the Wildpeak A/T3W is engineered in adherence to high-quality standards.

And this means it’s developed to serve you until its tread wears off completely without any issues.

Unfortunately, this is not always the case. For instance, it may wear out prematurely or it may be removed from service due to manufacturer-related issues.

And Falken understands that such issues can happen to any driver. To this end, it has backed this tire with a couple of warranties and guarantees.

These warranties and guarantees are fashioned to cushion you from loss, in case you experience issues with the quality or performance of the tire. They include:

Materials and Workmanship Warranty

The Falken Wildpeak A/T3W comes with a materials and workmanship warranty, running for 6 years from the tire’s purchase date.

Under this warranty, Falken promises to replace your Falken Wildpeak A/T3W tire free with a comparable new one, if it’s removed from service due to materials and workmanship defects within its first 2/32-inch of the original usable tread.

If it’s removed from service after its first 2/32-inch of tread wear, Falken will replace it on a pro-rated basis.

Therefore, you will be charged a certain amount of money for the tire’s replacement, depending on the level of tread wear on the Falken Wildpeak A/T3W.

Limited Tread Life Warranty

The Falken Wildpeak A/T3W also comes with a limited tread life warranty of 55,000 miles or 90,000 km.

Therefore, Falken offers to replace it through an authorized dealer, if it wears out uniformly across its tread without achieving the warranted mileage.

The replacement will be done on a prorated adjustment, where Falken will contribute a certain percentage of the tire’s replacement costs, based on mileage the tire has failed to deliver.

It’s important to note that this warranty is only applicable for normal highway use.

So, if the tread wears out prematurely due to racing, competition-related or off-road driving, it will not be replaced under this warranty, regardless of the number of miles it has failed to deliver.

Road Hazard Protection

This tire also qualifies for Falken’s road hazard protection. Under this coverage, Falken offers to replace the Wildpeak A/T3W with a comparable new one free of charge, if it’s damaged due to unforeseen circumstances.

However, you should note that Falken will only replace this tire if the damage occurs during its first 3/32-inch of original tread depth or within 24 months from the tire’s purchase date, whichever comes first.

Tires damaged by racing-related events, accidents, vandalism, natural disasters, fire, improper maintenance or off-road use don’t qualify for road hazard coverage.

Uniformity Warranty

The Falken Wildpeak A/T3W also qualifies for Falken’s uniformity warranty.

Under this warranty, Falken offers to replace it free of charge, with a comparable new one if it’s removed from service due to out-of-round or out-of-balance issues.

Coverage will only be provided during the tire’s first 2/32-inch of the original tread depth.
